This Hawaiian wedding at the Le Jardin wedding venue in Sandy, Utah was absolutely stunning! The wedding took place on a hot summer day in the morning followed immediately by a luncheon and an afternoon reception. Jake and Anela and their families were the absolute best to work with! It was fun working with their blended families and you could tell everyone was there to fully support the couple on their wedding day.
Anela and her family are from Hawaii and they incorporated a lot of Hawaiian wedding traditions. They had traditional wedding leis for the groom and groomsmen and traditional floral crowns called an haku lei for the bride and bridesmaids. Their ceremony was sweet. They had a family friend officiate and had each of their siblings say a few words.
Their reception consisted of very sweet speeches, a traditional hula dance performance, cake cutting, and a lot of dancing. One of my favorite moments during the dance was when the mother-son dance turned into a whole family dance with all siblings hugging and swaying with each other. They exited with bubbles and we went off to grab bridal photos of the couple the canyon at Silver Lake. You can find that session here.
