Albion Basin is absolutely magical come late summer. The beautiful wildflowers start blooming in July and cover this beautiful mountainside. If you haven't been up to see the wildflowers during this time, I HIGHLY encourage it! Cecret lake is an easy hike up (1 mile) and allows you to see a ton of flowers and you end at a beautiful lake.
If you're a photographer and want to take a session up at Albion Basin, there are a few things you need to know. 1) You need a permit. It'll cost you roughly $180. So make sure you're 100% committed to this location. 2). Your permit will be for a specific day. It's not super easy to change once you've decided on a day. A ranger will ask to see your permit. 3) If you go in the evening, there will be a line to get up to the parking lot so prepare to get there a little early to make sure you can get to your session on time. 4) It is $8 per vehicle to get up to the parking lot. 5) Make sure not to step on any flowers and stay on the paths already made.
Photographers and their sessions started to overrun and destroy the wildflowers causing a ton of traffic and damage up at Albion Basin. Hence the reason it's so expensive to shoot up there. However, it is totally worth it and so gorgeous if you can make it up there.
